Thirteen years of parkrun

Stanthorpe Border Post - - SPORT -

PARKRUN: Stanthorpe celebrated parkrun’s 13th birthday like the rest of the worldwide parkrun community on Saturday.

It was a great turnout again, with 65 keen runners participating.

Congratulations to Margaret Porter and Robert Duff who have completed 50 parkruns.

Eight first-timers joined the usual parkrun gang.

Welcome to Paul Miller, David Cavanagh, Blake and Karen Mathie, Kathie Miller, Grace Mitchener, Bella Baronio and Benita

Suckling.

Scott Beesley, who was first over the line on Saturday, nearly cracked his personal best time of 19:35, finishing the 5km course in 19:39.

Robert Yates and Jamie Debnam crossed the finish line close after Beesley with great times of 19:50 and 19:56 respectively.

Impressive times were also achieved by Amanda Gemtpon, who was the first woman to cross the finish line after 22:15, followed by Marina Waterworth and Brigid O’Dea.

Personal best times were set by Alun Roberts, Jacob Hennoste, Liam Telfer, Karin Tracey, Jaimee Costanzo and Lesley Oosterbroek.

As always, a big thank you goes to our volunteers.

This week we would especially like to acknowledge Glenda Riley who always takes amazing photos for Stanthorpe parkrun that capture the relaxing and fun atmosphere we all enjoy so much.

Thank you Glenda, we love your work.
