RUMOURS about the closure of Stanthorpe Courthouse Registry are incorrect. The Department of Justice said the Stanthorpe Courthouse and Registry had not closed nor were there any plans to discontinue registry services. “The Department of Justice and Attorney-General and the Department of Transport and Main Roads have merged customer service areas and now operate from a single area on the ground floor of the Stanthorpe Courthouse,” a Department of Justice and Attorney-General spokesperson said. “This change will improve service availability and reduce wait times for customers. Staff are currently undergoing training to deliver all services. There have been no job losses or changes to court services.”
