Busking champs on the horizon

Stanthorpe Border Post - - LIFE | SERVICES SCENE -

IT HAS been a busy start to 2018 with many Rotarians and their partners committing to various activities.

We seem to have specialised in catering at the moment with the Australia Day barbecue and the Lamb Burger Stall at the Show needing lots of volunteers.

We have also visited the Rowing Club at Storm King Dam for one meeting.

Our next event, which is on February 24, is the South East Queensland Regional Final of the Australian National Busking Championships.

We have many aspiring entertainers currently sending in their registrations.

This promises to be another great event for Stanthorpe with entertainers and spectators coming from Northern New South Wales, regional Queensland and some great local talent all keen to show off their skills and be a part of the day.

Some of last year’s favourites are returning and all competitors still hoping to progress to the State Finals.

This event has been included in the Apple and Grape Festival this year.

We would like to wish our Apple and Grape Young Ambassador, Bridget Campbell, all the best for the upcoming events she has been a great ambassador not only for the Apple and Grape but also for the Rotary Club of Stanthorpe.

COMING BACK: The Fern Brothers at the Busking Championships in Stanthorpe last year.
