Souths have breathed life back into the minor premiership race with a well-rounded victory over table toppers RSL. In the other game Valleys crushed Wanderers.

Souths batted first and got off to a poor start, being 2-9 after 5 overs. But Jordan Lanza (77), Harry Williams (43) and Tom Bonner (29) righted the ship and Souths were bowled out in the 38th over for a healthy 201.

Josh Wren and Anthony DiBella both claimed 2 wickets and there were 3 run outs.

RSL’s batting reply never really got going and were bundled out for 109.

In the other game Valleys batted first. Wanderers felt they were in the hunt for their first victory when Valleys stumbled to 3-25. But Damian Anderson (55), Todd Beckett (35) and Brendan Smallmon (42) set about extinguishing any thought Wanderers were having of victory.

In reply, Wanderers were never in the hunt and were all out for 108.

With only a few weeks to go in the regular season the 3 teams that will play finals has been decided, but the minor premiership is still up for grabs. RSL sit on top of the table on 40, Souths 36, Valleys 28, Tenterfield 14 and Wanderers 2.
