Flash new kids’ hub has its grand public opening
IT WAS a day of celebration for the people of Vineyard Christian Church and the community of Stanthorpe as more than 200 people attended the family fun day and grand opening of the Vineyard Youth Hub last Saturday.
While kids stamped leather, had their faces painted, bounced on the jumping castle and enjoyed a sausage sizzle or hamburger hot off the barbecue, others waited in anticipation for the building to be officially opened.
At midday James Lister MP for the Southern Downs and Pastor Gary Swenson, ACC State Ministries director helped official proceedings begin along with Pastor Jeremy
Greening who addressed the crowd in attendance.
“This is a giant step for Vineyard Christian Church to leave a legacy and an inheritance for the young people of our community,” Pastor Jeremy said.
Pastor Gary equally recognised the value of the momentous occasion.
“In 100 years this building may no longer be here.
“Buildings come and buildings go but the impact on the lives of young people is the priceless achievement that will always be valued and will always remain.”
Mr Lister was impressed with the building as he was given a sneak peek guided tour before the official opening.
“I was expecting a small run of the mill facility”, he said.
“But this building is a fantastic achievement and a credit to the people of Vineyard Christian Church and will be of great use, providing a wonderful space for much needed programs for the young people of our region”.
Pastor Jeremy and Anita Greening are excited to launch Kid’s Club tomorrow.
“Kids in Grades 3–6 will be able to come down straight after school for hang time and take advantage of the full-size ping pong table, the games table that can be used to play air hockey, pool, foosball and many other games and the big screen TV complete with Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch,” Pastor Jeremy said.
“Kids can literally come and relax, hang with friends, and engage in some great fun after a big week at school.
“They will also leave inspired and encouraged to change their world with a positive life lesson taught using multimedia and they will also enjoy dramas and puppet shows and so much more.”
If you want to inquire about the new Vineyard Kid’s Club, contact Pastor Jeremy on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0402 283 363 or just come along to the new Vineyard Youth Hub at 85 Connor St tomorrow from 3.30pm and check out all the action for yourself.
