Splash into pool party holiday fun

Stanthorpe Border Post - - NEWS -

AS THE weather heats up, Stanthorpe Pool staff are getting ready to celebrate the beginning of the swimming season with a pool party.

The pool will be open for a closed event for Year 9 and 10 students this Saturday from 5pm to 7pm.

Southern Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie said the opening of the local pools was always an exciting occasion. “It’s going to be so much fun this year with the parties that have been organised,” Cr Dobie said.

“The pool parties are a fantastic initiative devised by our Southern Downs Youth Council over their last few meetings.

“It’s been great to watch them work together with council’s community services and community development teams to bring the idea to life.”

Entry is free, but registration is essential at stanthorpetickets.com.au.

The pool will be decked out with inflatables and jukeboxes will add to the party atmosphere, with lifeguards on hand.

Student ID is required for those attending and food and drink will also be available. The event is strictly drug and alcohol free.
