BAD STOREYS

Stirling Times - - Opinion -

OUR West Australian coast is unique for its natural environment and the envy of other countries.

Is Stirling council really going to hand over to the MRA large tracts of our dune system to be destroyed by a road that will do nothing to enhance the Scarborough beachfront?

In addition, the MRA also plans to allow 18-storey high-rise buildings in this area, more than double the previous eight-storey limit.

Is Scarborough set to become yet another clutter of high-rise concrete, hot bitumen and cars?

West Australians need to apply their creative talents to this project in a way that is more respectful of the already existing environment and will attract, rather than drive, people away from it. FRAN MALONEY, Trigg.
