Scarborough Revitalisation Update
It’s full steam ahead at Scarborough Beach with the new Scarborough Beach Bus Station now open! The area has been repaved to provide large pedestrian walkways with 21 new palm trees, bike racks and a new roundabout. Bus shelters have been installed and Transperth buses have already started operating from the new bus station.
The northern lower carpark is now open. The carpark offers 89 car bays and is accessible via Manning Street. Works to upgrade other beachfront carparks continue, as well as construction of the new surf club, skate bowl, playground and promenades, and relocation of the clock tower.
Traffic changes remain in place with sections of The Esplanade closed to all traffic until September. Cyclist and pedestrian access has also changed.
Please take care and pay attention to onsite signage when moving through this area. Maps and more information to plan your journey are available at www.visitscarborough.com.au
Vehicles will no longer be able to drive from Manning Road through to Brighton Road. Access to the beach and shops remains via Brighton or Manning Road. See the traffic maps for all the changes.
Your favourite restaurants, bars and shops remain open for business during construction. All works are on track for the return of Australian Surf Life Saving Championships in April 2018.
