The man, 42-year-old Shawn Adam Newton, is described as extremely dangerous and members of the public have been warned not to approach him.

Police believe he may be carrying a gun.

Anyone who knows his location should call police on 131 44 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Ms Gascoigne was found in a car near the Cedric Street offramp in the early hours of Saturday morning.

They also attended several addresses in Scarborough as part of the investigation over the weekend.
