Racing’s fashion runway
EIGHT WA designers will take to the catwalk as part of Perth Racing’s Prive Fashion Platform Runway at Ascot on October 7.
Balcatta designer Jonte Pike with Jessica BratichJohnson Hillarys, Only one Ashley, Suited for Him, Ete Swimwear, J. Porter Clothing, Reny Kestel Millinery and Tania Claire Accessories will showcase their spring summer collections, styled by Australian Style Institute Stylist of the Year Juvelle Behrendorff.
Pike said she was excited to show off her latest feminine yet edgy collection ‘Forget Me Not’ on the night.
“It’s a romantic amalgamation of feminine celebration with street-style highlights,” she said.
“A modern, edgy outlook for its wearer, the collection plays on juxtaposing textiles and emphasises feminine silhouettes. There is a strong denim blue sentiment inspired by the ‘Forget Me Not’ flower, paired with monochromatic designs for a timeless aura.”
Pike, who will take part in the Perth Fashion Festival’s WA Designer Capsule tomorrow night, said after a successful inaugural event at Ascot last year, partnering with Perth Racing was logical.
“Perth Racing has been very supportive to the fashion sector and after being approached to bring together a fashion event in 2016 it has evolved to a promising and exciting partnership,” she said.
“It would be amazing to have this event run annually.
“It is wonderful to offer such a unique experience to our customers, which includes a night out filled with fashion for both males and females and the opportunity to purchase garments straight from the runway.”
