Stirling Times - - STREET WATCH - – Senior Sergeant Julie Foley

You can help police tackle car break-ins by preserving any evidence, blood or tools, for forensic examination that has been left behind by the thief. If you see blood on your car’s smashed window, or a screwdriver nearby, we will call forensic officers in some cases to go and assess your vehicle. The same goes for homes which have been broken into. Don’t touch anything or get repairs done. We’ll come and inspect the house and the damage for forensic evidence. If you have CCTV, download it and bring it to the station. You can also ask your neighbours to see if their cameras have any footage of the crime. This can be very valuable for investigators.
