City con­fis­cates 40 il­le­gal elec­tion signs

ABOUT 40 lo­cal gov­ern­ment can­di­date signs have been con­fis­cated by the City of Stir­ling in the elec­tion cam­paign so far.

Elec­tion ma­te­rial in­clud­ing signs are not al­lowed on pub­lic land and can only be placed on pri­vate land with the per­mis­sion of the landowner. On any re­serve or other land or build­ing of the City of Stir­ling. Ad­ja­cent to any ac­tive pub­lic open space or City of Stir­ling build­ing. On a car­riage­way, di­vid­ing strip, traf­fic is­land, or round­about, within 50 me­tres of a sig­nalised in­ter­sec­tion. Within six me­tres of any un­con­trolled in­ter­sec­tion. On any ex­ist­ing traf­fic sign or street nam­ing sign.
