A NEW gift registry mobile app devised by a Scarborough resident aims to help users reduce the number of unwanted gifts going to landfill.

Rosal Mullins came up with the idea for Guessmenot after spending time searching for unappreciated or unwanted gifts.

“At Christmas time, you’re often buying a lot on a budget, someone opens your gift and before you know it the next gift is in motion and they almost have instantaneously forgotten what you gave them,” she said.

“The app allows users to create gift wishlists for an event, adding gifts from their camera roll or a website and share these wishlists with friends and family.”

Ms Mullins brought the idea to app developer Elizabeth Miguet at West Perth web development company Eduka.

Ms Miguet said bringing the idea to life was a challenge to begin with. “The result was a simple user interface that allows users to stay on top of their gift buying game with little stress involved,” she said.
