THERE will be numerous reasons to celebrate at November’s Italian Car Day, which will commemorate several automotive anniversaries.

One of Perth’s biggest motoring drawcards will celebrate 50 years of the Fiat 124 Coupe, 60 years of the Fiat 500, 70 years of Ferrari and 90 years since the first running of the Mille Miglia.

The event, run by the Rotary Club of Northbridge, will have more than 250 cars including vintage to modern Ferraris, Maseratis, Fiats, Lancias, Lamborghinis, De Tomasos and Alfa Romeos plus motorbikes and scooters.

The 1000-mile event Mille A Ferrari heads for the modern version of the Mille Miglia. Miglia was a race from Brescia to Rome and back from 1927 to 1957 and drew about five million spectators each year.

Italian Car Day on November 5 is from 9.30am to 3pm at Gloucester Park in East Perth.

Entry is $15 adults, children free and all proceeds go to Rotary Club beneficiaries.
