Bringing new Life to Scarborough
Scarborough Revitalisation Update
Works are ramping up along Scarborough foreshore with summer just around the corner. The first section of the 4.4m high climbing wall has been built and the skate bowl is nearing completion. Footings for the 70m long arbour in front of Squires Fortune have been installed and will be finished by mid-December.
The Esplanade is starting to look like a road again with asphalt being poured in sections and kerbing being installed along the south section. At the same time, new paving is being laid from Sandbar all the way to Brighton Road.
By early December, The Esplanade will be open again to traffic. Until then, the north section will remain closed to vehicles with access available only for the Rendezvous Hotel carpark. The south section of The Esplanade is open and drivers are asked to slow down and follow signage.
All carparks in the northern end of the beachfront are now open. The lower northern carpark can only be accessed via the upper carpark. The southern lower carpark is on schedule to reopen in early November.
