Excitement multiplied for new students
TEACHERS at Tuart Hill Primary School will be seeing double as well as triple this year.
The school has previously had twins enrolled and last welcomed a set of triplets more than 10 years ago, but it will now count two sets of twins and a set of triplets among its cohort.
Three-year-old twins Nirva and Navya Patel and Eve and Tessa Byrne have started kindergarten at the school, while triplets Emerson, Jackson and Olivia Westlake (4) enjoyed their first day of pre-primary on Wednesday.
Olivia said they felt ready and were “all excited” to start school.
Deputy principal Steven Ioannou believed being in the same class as their siblings helped ease students’ anxiety and nervousness.
The school was a hive of activity on Wednesday morning, with parents keen to see their children off and most students eager to meet their new classmates.
“It’s always pretty hectic, but it was a pretty good start,” Mr Ioannou said.
After settling in, students can look forward to starting swimming lessons at nearby Tuart College in the next couple of weeks.
