Garage Sale Trail Award

Stirling Times - - Stirling Scoop -

The City has received a Garage Sale Trail Government Award of Excellence for getting behind the annual program. For the first time in its seven-year history, the 2017 Garage Sale Trail was a weekend-long event, which prompted a 20 per cent jump in participation. To spread the word locally, the City promoted its Tip Shop at the Balcatta Recycling Centre as a go-to destination for bargains across the two-day event. In addition, all six of the City’s libraries hosted book sales on the Saturday as a way to reuse surplus stock. The City’s social media channels also helped prompt locals to hold more than 117 garage sales and stalls. If you have unwanted household items in good condition such as furniture and appliances, drop them off at the Balcatta Recycling Centre. The centre at 238 Balcatta Road, Balcatta is open Monday to Saturday from 7.30am to 4.00pm and Sundays from 8.00am to 4.00pm.
