Dressed for drop success
FASHIONING RECYCLE DAY
THE City of Stirling will host a charity clothing drop-off day this Saturday to help support local charities.
Last year’s event delivered promising results, with more than 14.8 tonnes of donations, including clothing, textiles, shoes, towels and bedding, collected on the day.
This year the City has partnered with St Vincent de Paul, Good Samaritan Industries, Spine and Limb Foundation, Salvation Army and Anglicare.
Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said these charities played an important role in the local community by employing people with disabilities and assisting those in need.
“Apart from the benefits of recycling and diverting waste from landfill, the event also provides a convenient drop-off point for local residents and promotes the great work and services provided by these charities,” he said.
Collections will take place from 9am to 3pm in the City’s administration centre carpark.
