Council joins club on collapse concerns

Stirling Times - - News -

THE recent collapse of several WA building companies caused some trepidation ahead of a Stirling Council tender decision.

Councillor David Lagan referenced the building industry’s woes while councillors decided whether to endorse officers’ recommendation to award the construction of clubrooms at Millington Reserve in Karrinyup.

Infrastructure director Michael Littleton said it was a fairly small project but applicants were fully assessed.

The council eventually passed the recommendation to award the tender to Landsdalebased Geared Construction. The company will upgrade the football/baseball clubrooms at the reserve at a cost of more than $535,000.
