SCARBOROUGH pub The Squires Fortune will close to make way for the opening next month of new venue The Peach Pit.

Scarborough resident and ARK Group operations manager Adam Kapinkoff said the time was right for a change.

“We’ve had some fun over the past four years with The Squire’s Fortune and the James Squire concept, but we felt the time was right to evolve the space coming into the Scarborough foreshore’s first full summer after the devel-

opment,” he said.

The Peach Pit is promising to be a laid-back and stylish addition to the coastline where beachgoers can enjoy a beer, cheeky cocktail, casual bite or even a late-night dance.

“Since the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority has completed the Scarborough project, we’ve been planning a revitalisation of the site that will fit perfectly amongst some of the great venues down here in Scarborough,” Mr Kapinkoff said.

“The Peach Pit will be the spot you can come in from the surf, grab a beer, and enjoy a sunset dinner with family or spend a killer Sunday session with your mates.”

Renovations at the site will start this month, with the new venue scheduled to open in November.
