Two great page-turners

FALLING by Jane Green is not your conventional romance.

Main character Emma left her strict upper-crust English life eight years ago and found success in a finance career.

Finding herself less than content with this life, Emma rents a beach cottage and meets her new landlord Dominic and his young son.

The two gradually fall in love, but Emma finds she needs to put effort in to make things work. COLSON Whitehead has done it again, this time tackling the topic of slavery with a combination of historical fact and his own imagined events.

The novel follows teenage slave Cora who is determined to escape from a cotton plantation in Georgia.

When Cora escapes, she travels on an underground railroad and encounters different harsh worlds at each stage of her journey.
