We are truly spoilt here in Australia, both in swimwear and beaches, but these Aussie trailblazers have earnt an honourable mention.

Zimmerman: This Sydney label is the brainchild of sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann and has set the bar in Australian design. Known for their swimwear, resort wear and ready-to-wear collections, with a signature of delicate prints, strong silhouettes and an effortless yet sophisticated look, Zimmermann has won a loyal legion of fans.

Gorman: Fun, bright and peppered with great prints, this is the perfect clothing and swimwear label to embrace for summer. Lisa Gorman began in Australia’s creative hub, Melbourne, in 1999 with a small boutique. The philosophy of Gorman is also great, with a focus on ethical fashion and the recent addition of Gorman Organic. Think vintage-tribal with a modern kick.

Spell & The Gypsy Collective: This gorgeous clothing and swimwear label (with photo shoots to die for) started in Byron Bay by sister duo Isabella (whose childhood nickname was Spell) and Elizabeth. With swathes of prints, lace, tassels and embroidery, this label will steal the roving gypsy heart you didn’t know you had.

Jets: Stylish, sophisticated and sexy, this swimwear label prides itself on creating gorgeous silhouettes. Sydney creator Jessika Allen uses stretch fabrics to complement the natural curves of the female form. The styles, patterns and prints of this label offer truly glamourous, classic and modern options.
