THE ANZAC STORY
The much loved art and community hub Dogwood Crossing, Miles wants to share the other side of the ANZAC’S story, and is calling on residents to help.
The John Mullins Memorial Art Gallery, located in the country town of Miles on the Western Downs, around two-and-a-half hours north-west of Toowoomba, will host the exhibition Homecoming, a Local Perspective: Navigating the experience of returning from conflict. The exhibition will open Saturday, November 10, 2018. The exhibition aims to explore other facets of the Anzac story, apart from the bullets and battles, that are often overlooked. Homecoming will look at the reality communities and families experienced when service personnel returned home from any conflict from WWI to the present day.
Submissions of stories are invited from anyone with a personal connection to the Western Downs region to contribute to this commemorative exhibition. TO SUBMIT A STORY PHONE THE WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL ON 1300 COUNCIL (1300 268 6245) OR EMAIL INFO@WDRC.QLD.GOV.AU BY MONDAY, JULY 31.
