For Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio, the IABT luncheon is a cause close to his heart after having a prostate cancer diagnosis in his late 40s.

“I think the most remarkable aspect of the IABT campaign is the awareness it has raised about men’s health,” he says.

”It has provided a local platform for us as men to talk about a subject that was previously considered a private matter – often to the detriment of our families.

“As mayor, I am heartened by any group working for the good of our community.

“It’s always a great day out to think about what a fantastic region we live in, how generous and willing people are to help each other and, importantly, to take stock about our health.”
