Fruit juice made from grapes, apples, blueberries and strawberries has been found to be the tastiest blend to protect you from heart disease, says a study at the University of Strasbourg in France.
Polyphenols, found in fruit as well as red wine, chocolate and green tea, help protect against cardiovascular disease, but can be bitter tasting. This blend came up trumps for both flavour and effectiveness. + Don’t overdo it: Fruit juice contains less fibre than whole fruit and is higher in natural sugars, so just half a glass (125ml) a day is plenty.
