PISTACHIOS BETTER SNACK THAN PRETZELS
When it comes to healthy snacking, pistachios have come out the winner over pretzels, despite being higher in fat.
In a recent University of California study, overweight participants snacked on either pistachios or pretzels as part of a 12-week healthy diet. At the end of 12 weeks, those munching on the nuts had a better body mass index than those who chomped on pretzels.
Pistachios’ high percentage of unsaturated fat makes them heart-healthy.
