secret to happiness? Be open to new experiences. Researchers have found that positive changes to our personality, including being more outgoing and willing to try new things, can boost our happiness more than money or marriage.

A study of 7500 Australians over a fouryear period found that contrary to previous beliefs, personalities can change over time, and even small positive changes lead to greater improvements in happiness than a higher income, getting a better job or getting married.
