LOUNGE ON THE LAWN
Be one of the first to enjoy P&O Cruises’ newest ship Pacific Explorer on an eight-night South Pacific cruise, A Taste of New Caledonia, departing Sydney next month. The cruise, sailing July 20, is priced from $835 a person, quad share.
The ship joined the P&O fleet this month after a multimillion-dollar refurbishment in Singapore and has exclusive touches, such as two new “fast-casual” dining options: Luke’s, a poolside grill by Australian chef Luke Mangan; and 400 Gradi, a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria by Melbourne’s award-winning chef Johnny Di Francesco.
Similar to sister-ship Pacific Dawn, Pacific Explorer is fitted with wild waterslides in a water park – one is transparent so that spectators can watch guests shoot through its twists and turns – and the other slide has music pumping through it to give guests a high-impact ride all the way to the bottom.
Pacific Explorer wears the signature Southern Cross livery emblazoned on her hull.
Other touches range from an outdoor lawn bowls area to classes on making whisky and gin. PH 13 24 94, POCRUISES.COM.AU
