COME ALONG FOR THE RIDE
ith the Tour de France in sight next month as inspiration, the active traveller’s thoughts might turn to holidays on two wheels. And with its stunning landscapes and network of trails, New Zealand’s South Island is made for cycling.
Adventure South NZ’s six-day guided Alps to Ocean (pictured) itinerary, from picturesque Lake Tekapo to Oamaru on the Pacific, has become so popular in the past three years that the adventure specialist has added a day to the ride for cyclists wanting to do the total 310km trail.
The extra day allows for starting the ride in the alpine playground of Aoraki/Mt Cook Village, and includes a short, pre-cycle, scenic helicopter ride. Fully supported departures for the upcoming season in November and March are priced from $NZ2895 (about $2680) a person twin share. ADVENTURESOUTH.CO.NZ

AT A STRETCH
Long-haul passengers leaving Sydney can get a headstart on keeping their body fit for the flight ahead. Sydney Airport has partnered with Stretch Studio to open a “flexology” centre inside the T1 International terminal. Passengers can have an assisted stretching session before boarding to help prevent stiffness and soreness. Nervous flyers might also find a session, from $39 for 15 minutes, relieves pre-flight anxiety. The airport already has a dedicated yoga room in T2 Domestic terminal. STRETCHSTUDIOS.COM.AU
