ED’S LETTER

Even the most well-adjusted of adults have been known to cringe while flicking through a photo album. Just as you move past the Kodak-moment preserved gangliness of adolescence, there’s the dubious fashion choices of the early 20s that seemed so cutting edge at the time and now just seem so, well, not. For Kylie Minogue, revisiting her wardrobe of old is a somewhat less private process. She may still store boxes of her stuff at Mum and Dad’s, like any self-respecting Aussie hoarder, but her life has been exhaustively documented over the past three decades. And as she tells Cameron Adams in our cover story, she now looks back fondly on things that might have once caused her to cringe. Time will tell if the four young men of 5 Seconds of Summer prove to have Kylie’s longevity – but as music writer Kathy Mccabe observed while spending the day backstage with the band at New York’s Madison Square Garden, they are clearly having the time of their lives. Not even the tax collectors at the ATO can take that away.
