REVEAL SUPPLE SKIN FOR SUMMER BY EXFOLIATING FROM TOP TO TOE USING TEXTURED SCRUBS MADE FROM COFFEE, KELP, SUGAR AND CHARCOAL.
The Brazilian lifestyle is laid-back, fun and colourful; I can’t live without music, exotic food and, of course, my family. I will always be a beach girl from Bahia at heart, so my own day-to-day style is very natural.
I’m a fitness girl and breaking a sweat is the most important part of my regimen. I love boxing. There is a real mental clarity that comes with it; it’s like a spiritual rinse and cleanse. I also use jump ropes, which you can bring anywhere, and have practised capoeira – a Brazilian martial art that combines dance and music.
For guilt-free snacks you can actually live with, I keep dark chocolate and blueberries on hand. Switching from sodas to healthy kombucha will do wonders for your digestion. I live on rice, beans, chicken, homemade soup, sushi and pasta. If I’m craving Brazilian food, I go to a churrascaria. I am obsessed with coconut as a beauty ingredient. I drink lots of coconut water as a skin hydrator and apply it directly to my skin using soaked, chilled cotton pads. I like natural ingredients on my skin and cleanse day and night. If it’s a regular day where I’m running around after my kids [Valentina, six, and Sienna, four] and working out, I keep it natural with almond or coconut oil on my skin, mascara and lip balm. A hair mask helps condition – argan oil is my favourite.
I am a huge fan of red lipstick. A red lip with clean skin just pops! A great cheat for keeping coverage looking natural and glowing is to add shimmer powder to your moisturiser. When it’s time for drama, I add a smoky eye or black liner. Getting glammed up is a great way to play with being feminine and sexy.
I love scent – my favourite childhood memory is the smell of roses, because my mother always had them in our home. I love how sexy [Marc Jacobs fragrance] Divine Decadence is.
My style icons growing up were Hollywood stars Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren – the ultimate blonde and brunette. But, for me, being super-sexy is more about confidence and self-awareness than appearance. When a woman exudes happiness, she’s at her most beautiful. I tell my daughters that smiles and laughter will be their best beauty tip.
