ED’S LETTER

Sunday Herald Sun - Stellar - - Contents - Sarrah

He’s the fastest human ever timed, but the unprecedented talent of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt – who speaks to Stellar in this week’s Q&A – may also very well be the envy of breakfast hosts on Australian TV. Samantha Armytage – along with her Sunrise co-host David Koch and Today hosts Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic – is one of the most talked-about people in the country. That those charged with anchoring the small-screen in the early hours of the morning have proven such a source of fascination in recent years often sees them pursued by paparazzi in ways that were once confined to international movie stars. Let’s just say they might find a Usain Bolt-esque ability to outrun camera-wielding strangers a handy talent to possess on such occasions. As Armytage told writer Jordan Baker, “Being followed by strange men with cameras while I’m putting my bins out is ridiculous.” In our cover story, Armytage breaks her silence over Undie-gate. Yes, Undie-gate… Ridiculous indeed.
