SHORT & SWEET

Sunday Herald Sun - Stellar - - Kate Langbroek - with NATALIE MEDHURST

You’ve reached the upper echelons of Australian netball. How many hours did your mum spend driving you to practice?

Too many to count! Country kids do a lot of travelling, and we did eight-hour round trips to attend training camps.

Have you thanked her?

I still owe Mum a few coffees, but I would like to think I did an excellent job at making sure she stayed awake during the drives.

How many goals do you think you’ve shot so far?

I’ve put up my fair share.

Athletes are famous for goal-setting. What are yours? The next Olympics, Insta-fame or finding your 1995 GS bib in lost property?

I think, with my swimming abilities, the next Olympics are within reach. They do have the “survival stroke” in the Olympics, don’t they? Suncorp Super Netball starts February 18 on the Nine Network.
