ED’S LETTER

Sunday Herald Sun - Stellar - - Contents - Sarrah

Unless you happen to have undertaken a tertiary degree in coding, or have set up a scholarship program for young women, then it’s probably unwise to question the intellectual stamina of a leggy supermodel. Karlie Kloss, who juggles her day job as one of the world’s highestpaid models with the essay-writing demands of a university undergrad, doesn’t have much time for the antiquated theory that beautiful women can’t be smart. Which is why Stellar chose the sandstone grounds of The University of Sydney as the location for our exclusive photo shoot with Kloss during her recent visit to Australia to launch David Jones’s new-season collection. As she points out, intelligence does not only mean “book smarts”, but also “street smarts”, and cover star Dannii Minogue is certainly evidence of that. Having worked consistently since the not-so-ripe old age of seven, the 45-year-old has not only navigated the pitfalls of growing up in the spotlight with good humour and tenacity, but has clearly emerged wiser than ever.
