You wear a lot of hats as an editor-in-chief of a magazine (not literally, of course, except when at the races during the Spring Carnival) – but up until this issue, I can’t say I’ve ever played the role of a genie. Yet it was without hesitation that I happily agreed when I was recently contacted by the Starlight Children’s Foundation to see if Stellar could assist in granting the wish of a young man. Almost three years ago, Jason Clymo fell through the middle of a stairwell and suffered a broken back and spinal cord injury. Now 22, and a wheelchairbound paraplegic, Clymo feels strongly about greater inclusion of people with disabilities in the Australian media and told the Starlight Children’s Foundation it was his wish to be in a magazine fashion shoot. You can see the results for yourselves on page 14, whereupon I’m sure you will agree that Clymo has a very promising future ahead of him. As I told him when I met him at the shoot, all we ask is that he doesn’t forget us when he’s a world-famous model.
