But this year’s biggest trend sends a new message: ditch the sleek, straight blow-dry and embrace your natural definition. “It’s about expressing individual style and having fun with the hair’s natural movement,” says Wella Professionals creative director and celebrity hairstylist, Renya Xydis. “You need to add lift, shine and give grippy texture that isn’t stiff.”
Look to a mousse or spray infused with salt or sugar to create this effect. Next-generation smoothing creams condition but also accelerate air-dry time after being scrunched into damp hair.
