Zoo breakfast something to sink your teeth into

Sunday Herald Sun - - News -

MELBOURNE Zoo’s keepers are urging visitors to join them for breakfast this month and get a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes.

Until January 29, the zoo will open at the earlier time of 8am, giving patrons the chance to meet keepers to see what they do to get the zoo ready.

It’s also a chance to see the animals enjoying their quiet start to the day before the crowds arrive. The lemurs, urs, pictured with keeper Harna Burton, love to bask in the sun. Penguins are fed fromfro 8.30am and red pandas are given an

early feed of their favourite bamboo, while the coffee kiosk is also open early.
