MOUNTAIN TO CLIMB

Sunday Herald Sun - - Golf -

BEST of luck to Randwick with their plans to run a $10 million sprint this October where the 12 entrants must part with $600,000 just to get a run.

It could be a serious fillip for racing in this country, with the concept employed successfully in the Pegasus Cup in the US.

Naturally enough, the launch attracted huge publicity, both for and against, given the 600 large first-up, but what took my fancy was the logo, complete with the imposing silhouette of the world’s tallest mountain.

Which may or may not be Everest, with some who have been to that part of the world claiming the mountains on the logo bore a distinct resemblance to Ama Dablam (6812m), a first cousin of Everest that stands down range a bit.
