Accused out cold in hot car
A MAN facing a host of burglary and theft charges was allegedly found unconscious in a stolen car early yesterday.
Police allege they found Dylan Whitfield passed out at 12.30am at Blackburn in a car loaded with allegedly stolen items including electronics and motorbike exhausts.
Whitfield was already on bail for a number of charges dating back to 2015, including several of car theft, burglary, failure to answer bail, theft, handling and damaging stolen property, and assault.
He allegedly became aggressive when roused, running away and hiding in bushes.
An ice pipe and a bag of what appeared to contain alprazolam was also allegedly found in the car and on him.
Whitfield told Melbourne Magistrates’ Court he was attempting to rebuild his life and said it was a “one-off incident”.
His bail application was refused and he was remanded in custody to reappear on Wednesday.
