Ac­cused out cold in hot car

A MAN fac­ing a host of bur­glary and theft charges was al­legedly found un­con­scious in a stolen car early yes­ter­day.

Po­lice al­lege they found Dy­lan Whit­field passed out at 12.30am at Black­burn in a car loaded with al­legedly stolen items in­clud­ing elec­tron­ics and mo­tor­bike ex­hausts.

Whit­field was al­ready on bail for a num­ber of charges dat­ing back to 2015, in­clud­ing sev­eral of car theft, bur­glary, fail­ure to an­swer bail, theft, han­dling and dam­ag­ing stolen prop­erty, and as­sault.

He al­legedly be­came ag­gres­sive when roused, run­ning away and hid­ing in bushes.

An ice pipe and a bag of what ap­peared to con­tain al­pra­zo­lam was also al­legedly found in the car and on him.

Whit­field told Melbourne Mag­is­trates’ Court he was at­tempt­ing to re­build his life and said it was a “one-off in­ci­dent”.

His bail ap­pli­ca­tion was re­fused and he was re­manded in cus­tody to reap­pear on Wed­nes­day.
