Gun aimed in cou­ple’s bed­room

A GANG of thugs are on the run fol­low­ing a vi­o­lent crime spree in which a de­fence­less vic­tim was threat­ened with a shot­gun in his own bed­room.

Four men and a woman are wanted over the vi­o­lent ag­gra­vated bur­glary that has been linked to a po­lice car ram raid in Car­rum Downs and sev­eral high-speed pur­suits.

John Schef­man and his wife Sil­via, both 68, were sleep- ing when they woke to loud bangs out­side their ru­ral Bit­tern prop­erty about 3.30am yes­ter­day.

Three masked thugs used an axe to break into a shed on the prop­erty and raided the boot of a black Holden Com­modore.

When Mr Schef­man told them to leave, one man shoved a long-arm shot­gun through his bed­room win­dow threat­ened to kill him.

“I saw the big bar­rel come through the win­dow and he told me to f--- off or else he’d blow my head off,” he said.

“We backed away from the win­dow and told them po­lice were on their way.”

The ter­ri­fied cou­ple hid for safety as the thugs sped off in a stolen BMW. The same ve­hi­cle rammed two po­lice cars in Car­rum Downs on Fri­day. and
