Lawry to pull up stumps
AUSTRALIA’S favourite cricket commentator, Bill Lawry, is poised to announce his retirement from television broadcasting.
Lawry called the cricket on Channel 9 for almost 40 years and his influence was recognised by Channel 7 and Foxtel following cricket’s new $1.2 billion deal.
It was rumoured Foxtel wanted to bring Lawry, 81, on board in a part-time role.
Lawry captained Australia and played 67 Tests.
