Going the distance

is on the run — literally.
Daish (inset) has clicked over the kilometres raising funds for police suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The keen runner has collected the money by completing two half marathons in the past year.
“I have raised $12,000 in total for police officers suffering PTSD,” she said. “I want to keep doing that. “I just think it is really important because police officers cop a lot of crap. They are in a very public role and they are there to protect all of us, but the trauma they suffer on the job is this side effect that they did not sign up for and it is very real. “After having done a few stories and realised the gravity of what they see and do every day, I became interested in it and passionate about it and wanted to do something good.” Daish will take part in the Great Ocean Rd running festival half marathon next weekend running from Kennett River to Apollo Bay.
