Tiger hunts an eagle
HOW else would former Richmond champion HAVEL
ROWE celebrate his 90th birthday last Tuesday other than 18 holes at his beloved Kew Golf Club?
The only Havel to reach AFL level, he still plays, and walks, 18 holes twice a week, even if he is annoyed that his handicap has fallen to 27 rather than the four he boasted 50-odd years ago.
Rowe, pictured here in a snap taken by golf buddy IAN
STEWART, remains a devoted Tiger after 124 games from 1948-57, including the 1953 best and fairest as a centreman.
“They have some great players, although probably the two best I saw or played against would be BOBBY ROSE and TED WHITTEN,” he said.
