WHY DOSAGE MATTERS
One of the reasons why supplements may not work for some people is because of the dosage and timing. For instance, vitamin C is water soluble and is eliminated from the body within six hours. For best results, it needs to be constantly present in the bloodstream – in other words, you need about 250mg to 500mg three times a day.
On the other hand, EPA, the anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acid, works best when incorporated into cell membranes in every cell. This takes weeks to months for results. The dosage needs to be relatively high (about 5g to 10g daily) but only needs to be taken once a day.
