“I’VE LEARNT NOT TO BE TOO HARD ON MY­SELF”

Life­style pre­sen­ter and health am­bas­sador Sophie Falkiner dis­cusses turn­ing 40, and shares her tips for achiev­ing bal­ance and well­be­ing. By Mark Brook

Sophie Falkiner likes to keep her­self busy. In be­tween work­ing as a TV host and an event MC, she’s an am­bas­sador for health and beauty brands Bioglan and Skin Doc­tors, and has also com­pleted a course in nu­tri­tion.

Sur­pris­ingly, the mum of two and self­con­fessed “nerd” ad­mits that health and fit­ness weren’t al­ways a pri­or­ity. It wasn’t un­til Falkiner reached her 30s that she re­alised how ge­net­i­cally blessed she was and that “as you get older, things be­come harder”. Here, she re­veals how she feels about turn­ing 40 and stay­ing in shape. “I was one of those kids who wasn’t al­lowed mar­garine, I had fresh milk out of the bot­tle, was never al­lowed cor­dial and was only al­lowed a treat on Fri­days – that was it.
