If you’re like me, chances are you don’t have time to con­tin­u­ally reap­ply your makeup dur­ing the day. When I do wear it, it’s usu­ally on my face by 6.30am and ideally it would still be there when I take it off be­fore bed. How­ever, I’ve learnt that un­less I use the right prod­ucts in the right or­der, most of it slides off my face by lunchtime.

Erin Voyer is an ex­pert when it comes to make-up with stay­ing power. For the past 18 years, she’s worked in the TV in­dus­try as a hair­dresser and make-up artist and has learnt many great tricks along the way. Here, she re­veals how to make your look last. The all-im­por­tant first step is to prep your skin. “Keep­ing skin clean, ex­fo­li­ated and mois­turised is the key to foun­da­tion stay­ing on,” Voyer says. “Foun­da­tion will go patchy, es­pe­cially on ar­eas that have a build up of dead skin.”
