AIR Wilpena, the charter airline for Wilpena Pound Resort, is hosting a five-night aerial and landscape photography tour of the Flinders Ranges and Lake Eyre regions. Photographer Peter Elfes will host the tour. His work has been displayed in the National Gallery of Australia, the Powerhouse Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art and NSW Parliament House. The tour will run with a minimum of six and a maximum 12 people and will incorporate four nights at Wilpena Pound Resort with walking and 4WD tours of the area and workshops hosted by Elfes. Participants also will fly to Lake Eyre with an overnight stop at Marree and return via Andamooka. Flavours of Fleurieu
FIFTY-FOUR of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s top food and drink producers, restaurants, cafes and food tourism operators are included in the new Sharing Fleurieu Flavours guide. The 54, which includes the likes of Alexandrina Cheese, d’Arenberg Winery, Red Poles, McLaren Vale Beer Company and Kangaroo Island Sailing – were selected based on criteria including the quality and standard of produce of which at least 30 per cent must be sourced from the Fleurieu Peninsula. The booklet, a snapshot of the region’s best flavours, from cheese and winemakers, olive and almond producers and butchers to cafes, pubs and boutique breweries, is available at hotels, visitor information centres as well as some hotels, cellar doors and restaurants.
Taste of Sri Lanka

THE Quarantine Station has stood in chilling isolation on Torrens Island since 1880 when it was built to stop passengers bringing smallpox to Adelaide. Guided tours on April 6 and 7 will wind through the landing and decontamination area, the isolation hospital, morgue and graveyard. This site is only accessible by the SA Maritime Museum’s bus tour, tickets $25 (no concessions) which includes entry to the museum, tours depart at 10am and 1pm from the museum, closed shoes must be worn. Luxury in the hills
THE Adelaide Hills is building on its reputation for high-quality accommodation, such as the new 4-star Haus Studio Apartments at Hahndorf which is aimed at attracting high-yield visitors to the region. The 14 selfcontained apartments complete the three-stage Haus development. The South Australian Tourism Commission provided $200,000 for the project through its Tourism Development Fund.
