Harry hopes to be Sophie’s choice

Sunday Mail - - CONFIDENTIAL -

THERE might be a 13year age gap, but SA bachelor Harry Farran doesn’t see it as a hurdle in wooing Sophie Monk on the upcoming series of The Bachelorette.

“I’m a bit younger than her, but if it doesn’t bother her then it doesn’t bother me,” he says.

Harry would have been just seven when Sophie first burst on to our screens in 2000, then auditioning for her place in the Aussie girl group Bardot.

Seventeen years later, and Sophie is about to put her heart on the line when The Bachelorette starts airing on Channel 10 this week. “To think one of these guys might be ‘the one’. It feels like a fairytale. I feel like Cinderella and I’m going to meet my prince!” she says.

Describing himself as “happy, playful, easygoing, energetic and chatty”, Harry, who works as a restaurant manager, says in the market for someone who can show him “loyalty, honesty, love, affection and a damn good time”.

Although they are usually happy to parade around the new Bachelor and Bachelorettes each year, Ten reps were a little shy when asked for an interview with Harry this week, providing just a short Q&A instead and refusing to answer questions.

Filming for The Bachelorette took place earlier this year and it’s already been reported that Sophie is still very much in love with the man she ended up with.

But don’t expect her to be tuning in when the show finally goes to air this week.

“No way, I’m not at all,” she says when asked if she would be watching. “It’s so embarrassing. I usually act or pretend to be someone else but this is way too honest. No one wants to see themselves unfiltered.”
