Christmas comes early for Carols queen Samantha Jade

Sunday Mail - - CONFIDENTIAL -

SAMANTHA Jade is the latest star to be announced for this year’s 2017 QBE Insurance Carols by Candlelight.

But for the singer, Christmas is coming early this year.

“I’m about to start recording my new album this week,” she says.

“I think performing live is probably my favourite part of my job but I do really love the recording process.

“It’s where you can be creative and help things come to life from nothing.”

Samantha will be joining fellow X Factor winner Dami Im and music theatre star Lucy Durack at this year’s Carols – but says she has no plans to follow in Dami’s Eurovision footsteps just yet.

“It’s obviously something I would love to do and leap at the chance, I would love to represent my country internationally,” she says. “But they choose who the contestant is going to be each year so I can’t really do too much more than say ‘yeah, it’s something I’d love to do’.” Now in its 73rd year, Carols by Candlelight is Adelaide’s biggest carols event, attracting generations of families to enjoy classic Christmas carols and live entertainment while proudly supporting Novita.

FESTIVE CHEER: Samantha Jade will appear at this year’s Carols by Candlelight.
