Dance show to waltz back on our screens
IF anyone has walked a mile in the shoes of Dancing With The Stars contestants, it’s TV presenters Amanda Keller and Grant Denyer.
The duo, who have been chosen to host the Channel 10 reboot of the TV favourite, are former contestants, with Grant a previous winner.
“Grant and I have had the length and breadth of the experience,” Amanda says.
“He won, he’s good. I enjoyed learning the dances but wasn’t that good and was voted off pretty early.
Channel 10 recently announced it would resurrect the format that was axed from Channel 7 after 15 series.
Grant and Amanda said there were many celebrities ready to hit the dance floor.
At the top of his dream list of contestants would be convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby, who could “bring a mountain of drama” to the show.
Amanda is aiming a little higher. “I’d love to see Barack and Michelle Obama, obviously,” she said. “Maybe even Donald Trump.”
The format is simple – celebrities are partnered with professional dancers and compete each week in front of a panel of judges.
The show is expected to return early next year.
